Hours Worked Calculator

Tracking total hours worked over a period is essential for payroll accuracy, project cost estimation, contractor billing, and compliance with overtime regulations. Manually summing hours across days and weeks is error-prone, especially when schedules are irregular or a project spans multiple weeks. This calculator takes three inputs — daily hours, workdays per week, and total weeks — and returns the aggregate hours for the full period, the weekly rate, and an approximate monthly figure. It is useful for freelancers quoting a project scope in hours, employers forecasting payroll costs for a contract period, employees verifying their timesheet totals, and students calculating study hours across a semester.

Hours per week = Daily hours × Days per week. Total hours = Weekly hours × Weeks. Monthly approximate = Weekly hours × (52 ÷ 12) = Weekly hours × 4.3333. The monthly figure uses the 52/12 ≈ 4.333 average weeks-per-month rather than a flat 4, because calendar months contain between 4 and 4.5 weeks and the 4.333 figure correctly distributes all 52 weeks across 12 months. The total hours output reflects only the specified number of weeks — useful when you want to calculate hours for a project sprint, a school semester, or a specific billing period rather than a full year.
