How It Works
For a percentage raise, the dollar amount is calculated as current salary × (raise % ÷ 100). For a fixed raise, the entered dollar amount is used directly. The new salary is simply current salary plus the raise amount. The after-tax annual increase applies your estimated tax rate: raise amount × (1 − tax rate ÷ 100). Monthly take-home increase divides that by 12; hourly divides by 2,080 (the standard 52 weeks × 40 hours). After-tax figures matter more than gross raises because they reflect what actually hits your bank account — a 10% raise sounds large but delivers meaningfully less after income tax and payroll deductions.
